“Over the years I have known Kevin, he has used his experiences as a professional football player to challenge traditional practices and views for the betterment of the people he works with. Kevin is an excellent role model and has a clear affinity with those he works with encouraging them to take control of their own lives to make the best of life’s opportunities."
- Martyn Heather, Head of Education and Welfare at the Premier League
Soccology was created by former Professional Football Player and Psychotherapist Kevin George. After spending seventeen years in professional football, as a Player and a Consultant, and seven years studying human behaviour, Kevin has become one of the world’s leading experts on mental health in football (soccer).
Kevin’s journey has seen him facilitate in diverse spaces, from managing curriculums in schools and the counselling service within a London school on behalf of Place2Be to facilitating mental health programmes in prison and at the world’s biggest football clubs.
He is passionate about making mental health more accessible to all, providing mental health education across the spectrum and high quality engagement.
His research covers mental health in football, how mental health impacts on performance both on and off the pitch, comparisons to how different institutions manage those from different socio-economic backgrounds, why, and the impact it has on mental health. Giving birth to Soccology.
Kevin’s work is clinical, providing one to one therapy in his practice and online. Soccology’s work is behavioural, providing accredited group programmes on location and online.
